Album Review

Alternating between country tearjerker ballads and more mainstream pop tunes, Mickey Gilley shows off the pianist's flair for both genres. Although somewhat of a transitional album, nothing here is out of place in Gilley's vast catalogue of music. It's good listening, but not the best way to enjoy the talents of Mickey Gilley.

This takes me back to long road trips at night in the back seat of my parents' car. Very nostalgic. Great music!

For most of his career, pianist/vocalist Mickey Gilley lived in the shadow of his cousin, Jerry Lee Lewis, playing a similar fusion of country, rock, blues, and R&B.
