Album Review

It was probably inevitable that Trust Company would re-form after their 2005 breakup, given that both of the band's albums had reached the Top 50, suggesting that the musicians were leaving money on the table by splitting. So, six years later, singer/guitarist Kevin Palmer, guitarist James Fukai, and drummer Jason Singleton are back, now with new bassist Wes Cobb, picking up where they left off. That was playing "alternative metal," which in their case means music with metal arrangements for the guitars and drums, but with melodic vocals by Palmer, not an enraged heavy metal howl. In their heyday, Trust Company didn't reach their potential in competition with such peers as System of a Down, Disturbed, and Staind, but that potential remains here, as the band aims at a middle ground that may bring in more mainstream rock fans without alienating metalheads. So, the aggression is there in the music, but above it, Palmer sings earnestly, if through a diffuse sound filter, encouraging his listeners and providing singalong parts. "Tonight, you're not alone," he concludes on "Don't Say Goodbye," the closer, which might serve as the re-formed band's new theme song.

Thank you from TC

Thanks so much for all the positive feedback. For those missing the screams...they're over rated. We've been there done that. Besides it really takes a toll on the throat and there are plenty of other bands that scream. We've always been more melody oriented as opposed to screaming. I personally think it's our best record to date. We are so proud of this record.
And we are so excited to see all of you on the road.

Sick album

I'm glad you guys are back. Honestly TC is the band I mostly hear on my iPhone. Get all three albums, you won't be disappointed.

Same quality that I have come to expect from this band. This CD was fully baked not like some of the crap that keeps being turned out by other bands. Why this band has not gotten wider recognition simply does not make since. Their sound is original and no other band can match it. You won't go wrong adding this one to your collection. Thanks TC for sticking to what works!

Formed: 1997 in Montgomery, AL

Genre: Rock

Years Active: '00s

Alternative metal outfit Trust Company (also referred to as TRUSTcompany and TRUST*CO) formed in Montgomery, AL, circa 1997 around Kevin Palmer (vocals/guitar) and Jason Singleton (drums). The two met after high school, initially playing in a local band together before breaking off to create their own group. Distinguishing themselves from the alt-rock pack in their merger of melody with guitar-driven metal, the group took influence from the likes of Pantera, the Smashing Pumpkins, and the Deftones....
