Album Of The Week

I do "The Great American Music Hour" indie music podcast (available on iTunes) and made Red Rooster my "Artist In The Spotlight" this week. I love this album; it's in heavy rotation on my own iPod. The coolest part is that they made two records: one "electric" and one "acoustic" versions of the same 10 songs, although sometimes in radically different intrepretations. Red Rooster is rootsy Americana at its best.


These guys are tremendous songwriters and performers. But best of all, their range and taste is both really interesting and high-grade. In the end though, it just sounds GOOD. You have to check these guys out.

Nice mix of blues, folk, pop and Americana

Ths band is good! Bumped into them at the Newport Folk Festival and even though they were on the small stage, definitely a highlight of the day. Picked up the album Dose because of the performance and it does not disappoint. The songs have a great feel, a true, honest meaning and it is easy listening yet not simple. Highly recommended.
