Billy Shears would make a better choice for John

I am only giving the album 4 stars for John Lennon's contributions. In other words, only every other song can actually be listened to as Yoko's contributions are a joke and they make me want to choko; if you listen too long you'll go loco! Otherwise it's a great way to to take a nice ex-Beatle and listen to his perspective a dozen years removed from the British Invasion scene he was quintessential to be part of the best of the most beautiful, beautiful, beautiful, boy. Which is one of the finer tracks on this Double Album. Please remember it's only really a single album as you can only listen to half of the tracks and not be in excruciating pain from Yoko's "singing."

Underappareciated

If you can't appreciate Yoko's material on this, don't bother buying the album. You can't appreciate it as a 'half album" with only John's songs. This was in every sense a collaboration between two supremely accomplished and uncompromised artists. The album is a dialog- Yoko's songs reacting or commenting on John's. And they're good songs. SHe won't allow you to wallow in easy sentimentality- neither would he; think about the guys carreer. This guy bailed out on the freaking Beatles. It's the byplay that elevates this album to real Art. And, frankly, Yoko's vocals aren't all that out there by today's standards. They're often quite beautiful.

Rise of Yoko

It became all to clear to me when this album was released that John better song writing years was behind him. I think Yoko’s songs here are superior in so many ways, production, lyrics and a real edge rock sound.
