iTunes Review

Allison Moorer’s first album in five years took two years to complete. The singer commuted from New York to Nashville to play with the necessary musicians and work with her favored producer, Kenny Greenberg, who had helmed two earlier Moorer albums. The circumstances were largely difficult, with her marriage to Steve Earle ending in divorce as she began raising a young child later diagnosed with autism. Here, she channels her energy into songs such as “Like It Used to Be,” “Tear Me Apart,” and “If I Were Stronger.” She sings with complete conviction, whether the songs are rockers or intense ballads. Even the John Fogerty cover takes on added gravitas.

Why isn't she popular?

I'm 24 and have been listening to country music all of my life and I've never heard of her or any of her songs. How? She has such a unique voice and singing style. This album is fantastic! Do yourself a favor and get it 😍

A stunning collection…...

Through heartache and the unexpected changes and challenge life brings self-expression often rises. The ability to share such personal emotions, yet make them universal and relatable is a rare gift. And here it is. I knew more about Ms. Moorer than I knew her music. Think I've been missing out. This is a stunning collection of songs that run the gamete of anger, sadness, self-doubt, guilt, love….with sincerity and honesty. Yet the music behind it grabs the listener and inspires to join in. This is a great album. Truly. Get it.

A.M.always!

Very worth the wait!! Down to Believing reminds me of the Miss Fortune & The Hardest Part days!! Just excellent….so so happy to be able to enjoy the new along with the older.
