Sarah's Ave Maria & Symphony #3 were the only two songs that seemed to speak to me. The album is certainly better than her last but it doesn't come close to Harem or her earlier works. I'm sad. :-/

Brightman Fans (including me) Will Most Likely Be Disappointed :(

I wanted to like this album; I really, really did. I snagged an import of the Japanese release a few weeks ago, and I have listened through this countless times, and with the exception of a couple songs, the record is completely disjointed and weak. I have been a HUGE Sarah Brightman fan for 20 years, and each release has thrilled me (Eden and Harem I believe are her strongest achievements). Dreamchaser is such a disappointment in comparison. The songs don't mesh well together at all. Probably the saddest, and largest disappointment here is the weak and watered-down cover of Sia's "Breathe Me". I was so excited to see that she had covered this song and when I heard it, I could barely get through it and I was so let down I just wanted to cry- and not in the good way that Sarah usually makes me cry.

There are two semi-redeeming standout tracks here. The lead single, Angel (and even this song lacks any kind of real hook) is listenable and hearkens back to Sarah's signature style. But the largest, most beautiful, sparkling stone on this otherwise poor collection of songs is Sarah's stunning cover of the Icelandic band Sigur Rós's gorgeous song, "Glósóli". Honestly, I'd recommend just downloading this one song and skipping the rest. I really hope Sarah's next record is a lot more solid than this one. I realize that artists have to grow and evolve their sound, but I think Sarah took the wrong path with "Dreamchaser".

Different But Beautiful

Dreamchaser is definitely different than Sarah's previous works but it sure is beautiful. You won't be disappointed. Sarah's voice is beautiful as always. Favorites include: Angel, Glosoli, Symphony No. 3, Ave Maria, Eperdu, and Closer.
