About Chad Focus
Singer, songwriter, entrepreneur, and label owner Chad Focus is a hip-hop and R&B artist who runs his own Baltimore, Maryland-based production company, Focus Music Entertainment. Born Chad Arrington in Baltimore, Focus became interested in music at a young age, and started out taking classical piano lessons. Along with classic Motown and R&B albums of artists like Stevie Wonder, the Jackson 5, and the Temptations, he also grew up listening to hip-hop artists like Jay-Z, Sean "Diddy" Combs, the Notorious B.I.G., and others. An honor-roll student in high school, he later attended Westminster, Maryland's McDaniel College, where he juggled playing for the school's Green Terror basketball team and earning his degree in mass communications. After graduating, he pursued several business ventures before returning to music and launching Focus Music Entertainment with his cousin, rapper/producer Brandon "Troyse" Williams. In 2016, Focus and Williams collaborated on the label's debut release, Life Absolutely, which featured the singles "Important" and "Only" featuring rapper Raeliss. More tracks followed, including "Get to the Money" featuring Troyse, Cito G, and Flames. In 2018, Focus delivered the more R&B-oriented "Dance with Me," another track featuring Raeliss.
