The Smell Of Fresh Cut Grass

The smell of fresh cut grass, a sake bomb, driving past a bread factory, getting a text message, having your hair washed by the stylist, getting into your car with a full tank of gas, a burnt-orange pile of leaves, seeing a movie by yourself, having a metaphorical religious experience, grasping a difficult concept, yelling the jeopady question (answer) before the three day champion buzzes in, packing a lunch, cold pizza, lemon zinger tea... a new Jay Clifford record.

This really is one of the best albums I have purchased in a long time. From the upbeat beginning to the beautiful finish, not one song will disappoint. Although the style is different from his previous work, this album takes the career of Jay Clifford to new levels. There is a new edge to Jay's music, however the music still contains; amazing lyrics, string arrangements and of course the wonderful singing voice of Jay Clifford. Driving Blind is a return to the true essence of the rock album. Do yourself a favor and do not just buy one song, buy the whole album.

Waltzing past the grave

I would highly recommend the whole album, and pay especially close attention to the last 7 songs on the album...the first few are more advertised and up-beat songs...but the last 7 are the most beautiful and soulful. I especially love "waltzing past the grave," "diving bell," and "yesterday's move" and "dissolves." And of course, "paralyze," "invisible sun" and "caught in the rain." So yeah, listen carefully and let Jay point you to the infinite and to the radiance!
