a history lesson in retro

Thieves Like Us get their name from a classic kraut-rock hit by New Order. And are seemingly influenced by Joy Division and early New Order. In fact, they may have channeled the spirit of Ian Curtis on the song "your heart feels." Bands like Cut Copy and Hot Chip lean towards New Order's later disco faze. Overall, Play Music is a great retro-listen from beginning to end.

I am a huge fan of New Order...so their band name intrigued me enough to give it a listen. I was digging it right away. It does channel New Order but they go their own way with it. Amazing!

This album rocks. Very talented.
