A great introduction and a must-have for diehards

Roddy Frame alone with a guitar does more for the listener than most bands' best attempts to produce polished pop. Frame is, along with Neil Finn, one of the very finest singer-songwriters of a generation. Yes, he's that good. This simple collection is beautiful and easily accessible to the uninitiated and one of those "I have to have its" for longtime fans. He can turn a lyrical phrase like a master, and his guitar work emphasizes the fact that subtle chord changes are the most profound. That being said, his more polished versions are better than most of these, which aren't different enough to be eye-opening. This collection is marginally better than the Live at Osaka CD, though perhaps that merely accounts for preference; most of these songs are older than those on Osaka.
