My parents took my to NYC to see the 1965 production. I was only 8, but I was mesmerized. Having just listened to the 2002 recording, I'm amazed. It captured the joy, the spirit and the love of the original. It brought me to tears. Didn't know Mary Elizabeth had the pipes. WOW!! Bob

I LOVE the album! Brian Stokes Mitchell is one of my favorite singers and I could listen to his voice all day.

Five Stars

Brian Stokes Mitchell has the perfect voice for this role powerful yet velvety. I grew uo with the 1965 recording and loved it. This is even better.
Aldonza's voice conveys the perfect dual character of "kitchen w***e" and "Dulcinea sweetness." I adore this recording.
