iTunes Review

Ms. Dynamite’s debut was a far cry from her breakout moment, a ragga-inspired guest vocal on Sticky’s UKG hit “Booo!” Instead, A Little Deeper is a slicker record where Niomi McLean-Daley turns her hand to more traditional singing styles with a delivery that’s equally soulful and cheeky. Her lyrics are wise, sloughing off cliché and encouraging responsibility for one's actions on tracks like “It’s More.” She's smoother than her MC days, but her energy remains contagious.

i don't know why nobody ever purchased this, the artist is very good!

is it the 90's again?

I’m over 10 years late to this record but...

What an amazing album! So many styles, different subject matter, layers of honesty and vulnerability. I had a few moments where it reminded me of "Miseducation of Lauryn Hill” (which is unfair to compare any album to) but then I found out a majority of the record was produced by Salaam Remi, who is also behind the boards on Fu-Gee-La, and it made more sense. (It also explains the remixes of 2 of these tracks featuring Nas floating around the internet.) You really get to know Ms. Dynamite through all her music, and her brother - the phenomenal emcee known as Akala - made his debut on this album’s final track… after she made a tearjerking dedication to him. Classic album, no doubt. I’d love to see the rest of her music made available on iTunes worldwide...

After starting out in a pirate radio station called RAW FM, Ms. Dynamite met Richard Forbes (aka Sticky) in a West End club. The two began working on her debut single, "Boo!," licensed from DJ Jason Kaye's Social Circles label to London Records. Punch, Salaam...
