iTunes Review

More pristine, radiant pop from Carly Rae Jepsen but let’s be clear: this is not “Call Me Maybe II." E•MO•TION expands the musical and emotional palettes. Producers Ariel Rechtshaid and Dev Hynes dress “All That” in ‘80s slow jam finery, with shimmering keys and neon-lit effects. Rostam Batmanglij of Vampire Weekend gives “Warm Blood” a sinister edge and a delicious depth. And Sia lends her manic intensity, co-writing “Making the Most of the Night.” Carly’s sparkling voice ties it all together, whether finding her lane (“LA Hallucinations”), getting stuck in the friend zone ("Your Type”), or expressing the joy of breaking out (“Gimmie Love”).

so good!!

such a good album! Carly did such a great job and I love the 80s vibe !

I Really Like You, Carly!

I LOVE this album! I have a million favorites, believe me, but the first one I listened to is "I Really Like You" and it is SUPER good! Congrats! If anything, people looking for some nice, popular, pop music, you should definitely listen to this. And then afterwords, YOU decide if you buy it. I pre-ordered, and I was NOT disappointed! :D

I really didn't come here to dance

First and foremost, this is a pop album and it must be graded as a pop album. Delivering a pop album in itself has proven to be a daunting task, but Ms. Jepsen delivers. I'm almost disappointed the record label did not permit her to go ahead and release all 40 said album-ready recorded songs; the linging bonus songs pull the record together as a better whole. From start to finish, it's a disco ball party in my ears. Not the biggest fan of the leading single, I really really wish she would've led with any other song, but what it's in the past, is done. I've listened to at least one song off the album every day over the past year and I have no regrets with these life choices.
