Customer Reviews

Found about Taylor McFerrin back when I was in highschool, One of those late night Itune searching for music adventures & I found his album (not this one). I carried that album with me from highschool & made sure it was the type of music I played on my Ipod & during my smoking experiences =). I can say this is guy is a musical genius & I always try to check up on Artist but growing up, it's a bit hard when you spend all your time at work. Well enough of that sobby part of the review, when I typed in his name & this New Album showed up, Well let's just say it made my night! I cannot wait & I am deffinately looking forward to listening to his new material! Congrats Taylor!

BrainFeeder can do no wrong!

Yet another multi-talented musician at the Brainfeeder camp. This album does not disappoint. If you are a fan of any of the other artists on that label, then this album is definitely for you. McFerrin's musical layering is similar to that of FlyLo or Teebs in terms of atmosphere, with a Jazz and R&B flavor. Also, he adds guest vocals like the two aforementioned, but sprinkles in his own vocals as well. This is album is well crafted overall.

Truly Good Music

With artists such as Nai Palm of Hiatus Kaiyote, Robert Glasper, Thundercat, and his father, Bobby McFerrin, Taylor's album couldn't help but be DOPE. This album has the perfect sonic mixture of jazz and electronica with a sprinkle of rock to add a little bit of roughness to the edges. And, just being honest, I practically never buy albums. I only buy albums of artists I truly repsect. The $10 spent on this album was the best $10 I've spent in a long, long time.

Trust me when I say this...this is truly good music.

Taylor McFerrin's first recorded appearance was as a background singer on "Jubilee," a song included on his father Bobby's 1982 debut album for Elektra. A couple decades later, the younger McFerrin was known as a beatboxer and established a career as a multi-instrumentalist, songwriter, producer, and singer. In 2006, he released Broken Vibes, a broken beat-inspired vinyl EP pressed in a one-time edition of 900, and both co-produced and beatboxed on Ty's "What You Want (Taylormade)." His track "Go...
