Haunting and beautiful

I never knew of Mickey Newbury until I heard a song of his played on the local college radio. I was so impressed that I sought out his work and bought this album. He was an amazing writer and singer, with songs that are haunting and beautiful, sung in a voice that had compassion, depth and resonance. It's so sad that he died too early, but his songs should live on forever. He really should be more well-known, but he is beloved by those who have recorded his work and who know how great he was.

Live Mickey--WOW

I found Mickey Newbury from a song on public radio several years ago and have been a fan ever since. Love all his stuff, but especially his live concerts. He just talks to his audience and sings his heart out. Wish he were still here writing and singing.
