Any album that starts with "Hog Callin' Blues" is worth it in my book. Add to that one of
Mingus' tributes to Fats Waller- "Eat That Chicken" (one of the very few examples of
Mingus being outright silly) and even if some of the other material is a bit spotty, the
album is still a great purchase. I'd put it up there with "Ah-Um" and "Mingus, Mingus,
Mingus, Mingus, Mingus" myself...
