A True Work Of Art

Hands down, this is Trevor Tanner's best release...something I didn't think was possible after the release of Bullish, Bellyache, & Belch. What's clear in this release is a sense of cohesiveness, the album just has to be listened to from start to finish to fully appreciate it. Ranging from macabre wit to painfully honest observations, the lyrics are one-of-a-kind and a true work of art. The music speaks for itself, a wide variety of arrangements and instruments that truly shape the album. This release has been a long time in the making, and finally hearing it has most definitely made it worth the wait. Love is the scourge....

Eaten By The Sea

A great example of classic guitar and lyrics by an icon of musical mastery. Having really learned of Trevor in the impressive Bullish and Bellyache trilogy, I have been looking forward to this current release. This latest collection of songs takes you on a journey from edgy to whimsical, with many stops along the way. My favorites would have to be Fall, Wannabee and Freakshow. Classic Trevor Tanner with layers of guitar and rhythms. My rating, "Very Listenable", high praise indeed!

an adventure...

The journey continues from where "Bullish, Bellyache and Belch" left off. This time by doing all the instruments himself, Trevor suggests more honesty and maturity that we were only shown glimpses of in the box set. Trevor engages us during this entire ride, we revel in each moment while at our seat's edge knowing there's a twist or turn around the corner to surprise us. You will laugh. You will be touched. You will be moved, confused, taken to your dark place then swept out by the addictive melodies of this guitar icon. He's the secret you're compelled to keep in a velvet lined box just for yourself but this is a CD meant to be heard. Let's finally give in to the urge to shout from the rooftops that it's time for everyone else to dive in for the ride through the murky mind of his genius. It's bound to happen with "Eaten By The Sea". Musically, his is the curse that you can't stop listening to or get out of your head. This CD will please even the most particular of the "grown up Goth" fan of The Bolshoi, "Eaten By The Sea" comes at a time where Trevor's voice and musical genius is so needed; music that goes far beyond the popular shallows. I'm still trying to catch my breath as I dive under for more.
