Album Review

Recorded live in the offices of Cherrytree Records, a branch of Lady Gaga’s label Interscope, The Cherrytree Sessions contains a cabaret-styled solo piano rendition of “Poker Face” and a stripped-down synth-only “Just Dance,” both effective showcases for Gaga’s charisma and songwriting. The EP is rounded out by a mix of “Eh, Eh (Nothing Else I Can Say)” that contains nothing more than a human beatbox and a keyboard, a bare-bones mix that fits into this EP’s aesthetic.

Proving She is a new artist to be reckoned with...

Lady GaGa is surely proving that she has all the necessary requirements to be a major and successful recording artist. She sings and dances live, and does both of those things very well. Most artists nowadays bow out of singing live to maintain a set image and actually lack the ability to do both at the same time. She writes her own music which is yet another thing that many of today's artists also lack. But enough about how talented she is, let's look at her live covers of some of her songs... Pokerface - It's nice to see her take the song in an entirely new direction. While the style is bound to not be everyone's cup of tea it's still awesome that she can create two completely different vibes and appeal to different types of people with the same song. 4/5 Just Dance - Her vocal capabilities sometimes go unnoticed due to her image which tends to draw the focus, but here you can cleary hear the talent that this girl has. It's nice to hear a more low-key version of the song. Definately download it if you love the song but the radio is killing it for you. 4.5/5 Eh, Eh (Nothing Else I Can Say) - Now I am one who could not stand the original version of the song, there was just something about it that just didn't sit well with me. But this new version has made me love this song, I love the new beat and that it has such a chilled out and mellow vibe to it. If you are only gonna buy one song from this EP this is definately the track to buy. 5/5

She is amazing!!!!

Lady GaGa for sure is the best artist the world has ever heard. She deserves the Grammy is nominated for. I can't wait for more GaGa. Lady GaGa is going to be the new Queen of Pop. Step aside Madonna.

Whoa, I see something different in her! :D

After seeing her perform "Poker Face" on American Idol, I realized that Lady GaGa isn't all Pop, but she has a great way of adding a bit of a Jazz spice to her music. It's extremely classy! She has a really pretty voice when she sings with her piano. It's low and powerful in it's own way. By listening to the originals, I didn't think Lady GaGa could do that sort of thing. But DAMN! She pulled it off. The only negative trait I see is that the stripped down version of "Just Dance" is horrible. A song like that shouldn't be messed with. It's too original. GO GAGA! :D

Glamorously gaudy, a self-made post-modern diva stitched together from elements of Madonna, David Bowie, and Freddie Mercury, Lady Gaga was the first true millennial superstar. Mastering the constant connection of the internet era, Gaga generated countless mini-sensations through her style, her videos, and her music, cultivating a devoted audience she dubbed "Little Monsters." But it wasn't just a cult that turned her 2008 manifesto The Fame into a self-fulfilling prophecy: Gaga crossed over into...
