Customer Reviews

One of the best punk albums out there, even if you don't speak German

I was stationed in Germany for two years, and out of all the local music I had a chance to listen to Die Toten Hosen was hands down the best. The title means "a little bit of horrorshow" in English, and is actually based on a soundtrack they wrote for a play based on a Clockwork Orange. "Hier Kommt Alex" will be familiar to fans of Guitar Hero, but the whole album rocks hard. There's a decent story arc to the songs if your German is up to snuff, but even those who don't understand the language can appreciate the passion and intensity that went into making every song. Other than Alex, check out "Die Farbe Grau," "Mehr Davon," "Musterbeispiel," and "Testbild." All highly recommended.

Amazing Album

Most people only know this album because of Hier Kommt Alex, due to the Rock Band and Guitar Hero music games. Rock Band 2 probably helped alittle more putting the album cover on the songs. Die Toten Hosen really shreds, and their singer is all about Hard German Rock. Now, its not much to compare to Rammstein, but they're good none-the-less. Also, this album is kinda worth it considering theres 22 songs on the album and you can buy it for $9.99, like any other normal 12 or 13 song album. I shoot it five starts for just how hard these guys rock. To quote Rolling Stone magazine, "French may be the language of love, but German is language of Death Metal."

Go German Rock!

Great Album! You don't have to understand it!

Noted for their irreverent style and tough but hooky tunes, German punk/metal band Die Toten Hosen are one of Germany's most successful rock bands, commanding a large and loyal following at home and in Australia, South America, and Japan many decades after they began. Die Toten Hosen (the name literally translates as "the Dead Trousers") was formed in 1982 from the ashes of two Düsseldorf punk bands, ZK and KFC. Considering that three members of the Hosen were named Andreas, they took stage names...
