50 Songs??? GREAT DEAL THANKS iTUNES!
Traditional Mexican Music at its best! El Zopilote Mojado is one of the songs I need to memorize for the group I'm in. We have a gig on Saturday. It's crunch time.
I don't know anything about this song except for the melody and the chords. A zopilote is a turkey buzzard, and mojado means wet, so I suppose it's about a wet turkey buzzard.
Questions for Thought and Reflection
1. Why would someone write a song about a wet turkey buzzard?
2. How did the turkey buzzard get wet?
3. Is there some innuendo or argot or idiom about the meaning of "wet turkey buzzard" that would have Mexicans of a certain age or from a certain area nudging each other and nodding and saying, with knowing glances, "Yep, wet turkey buzzard, ha ha?"
4. Would you, dear reader, be one who knows this inner meaning? If so, would you kindly enlighten this poor guerona?
