Album Review

Four decades and dozens of albums into his career, Vicente Fernández remains one of Mexico's finest ranchera artists, arguably the best ever. It's as if he gets better with age, for Para Siempre is a near-perfect album. The singing, the songwriting, the instrumentation — it's all stellar. The songwriting is particularly notable. All of the songs on Para Siempre were written by Joan Sebastían, who, like Fernández, is a legend of Mexican music. Standout performances here include "La Derrota," "A Quién Vas a Amar Más Que a Mi," "Para Siempre," and "Estos Celos," though because there are so many great songs here, it's difficult to single out particular highlights.

Just amazing

He just can't stop recording hit after hit. The music on this disc is just beautiful!! Want goose bumps, buy the album. Not a bad song on the entire thing!! Viva Vicente!!!

"A quien Vas a Amar Mas Que Ami"

If you're not familiar with Vicente Fernandez, just listen to this song that I mentioned in the tittle of my review. You dont even need to speak spanish to apreciate his voice and the emotion in each and every word. If you dont speak spanish, translate his lyrics, if you've never been to his show, look him up on youtube. He is over 60 years, and still fills stadiums in Mexico, U.S., and Latin America. He is famous for being a humble blu collar guy. Hes a drinker, a smoker, and in his prime a womanizer. In every concert his motto is, "I wont stop singing as long as you dont stop aplauding" He will go over 3 hours non stop, until the stadium turns the lights on him. Look up "Aca Entre Nos en vivo" on youtube. Watch as he puts the mike down and sings acapella across the stadium...60 years old. Read his Bio. He is the King of Mexico.

More than just the undisputed king of Mexico's traditional ranchera music, Vicente Fernández — "El Idolo de Mexico" — is one of that country's most recognizable and influential cultural icons. Since his emergence in the mid-'60s, Fernández's popularity has escalated to the point that his status among Mexicans and Mexican-Americans has been likened to that of Frank Sinatra and Elvis Presley in the United States. His concerts both in Mexico and the U.S. routinely sell out despite a near-total...
