Shameful She Isn't More Well Known!

This album is just a sample of a beautiful voice that isn't as acknowledged as Tina Turner, Chaka Khan, Gladys Knight, etc. This album has a lot to offer anyone who has ever heard "Yes" from the Dirty Dancing soundtrack, as this album was released 7 years before that song. The title track is a musical slice of perfection, and not to be overlooked is the "Sly Suite" medley, sampling some of the best songs every recorded by Sly and the Family Stone.

Every rock and roll fan knows her voice--she did the second vocal on the Rolling Stones' "Gimme Shelter" from the album "Let It Bleed," still one of the most intense female vocals in rock history. (Remember "rape--murder--it's just a shot away, it's just a kiss away"?)
