They're happy -- and proud of it

Have been a fan of this band from the days before their drummer became a household name, and always thought their live shows were amazing -- hilarious, quirky, and just fun. But I never really expected them to make a record this consistent, or this good. Spans from indie disco to banjo fueled pop craft and never gets dull. Some of the weirder tracks, like Time U Space Love, may be even better than the obvious catchy stuff. Worth checking out.

Love these boys!

Fun, poppy, great variety on this album!

Honey-Coated Indie Pop Songs Are Sweet As A Peach...

The Honey Brothers 'Time Flies Like A Peach' was a long time coming, but well worth the wait. I first saw this band a few years back playing around NYC. As a late comer to Entourage, I didn't realize until way later on that the drummer had a day job beyond this band. Their shows were super fun, their songs instantly infectious, I was immediately hooked. As for this record, it's everything I hoped it would be: bright shiny intelligent indie pop. I hear bits of Flaming Lips, but with a Brooklyn attitude, I hear references to Talking Heads, but with janglier guitars, there's even some '80s Peter Gabriel, but with a "we're all in this together" sentiment. Time Flies Like A Peach is just that--a PEACH--oozing with sweetness and perfectly refreshing on a beautiful summer day!

Formed: 2001 in New York, NY

Genre: Alternative

Years Active: '00s

Hailing from New York City, the Honey Brothers are a five-piece indie rock combo whose approach fuses the sunny vibes of the jam band scene; the off-kilter humor of bands like Camper Van Beethoven and Ween; and instrumentation that brings together rock and newgrass, with drums and electric guitars sharing the stage with banjos and ukuleles. The Honey Brothers were formed in late 2001 by Dory Honey (aka Andrew Vladeck) on banjo, Carl Honey (aka D.S. Posner) on guitar, and Hoyt Honey (aka Ari Gold)...
