I Like It

As much as I would love Boyz II Men to make an original album, I have to say that I really enjoyed this one. I bought it because I love Boyz II Men and I wanted to support their new project. Although I wasn't too thrilled about the idea of a Motown hits remake album, I was pleasantly surprised when I listened to it. Ribbon In the Sky is absolutely amazing! I also love The Tracks of My Tears and Just My Imagination. I think they did an excellent job.

Well Done

Well done Randy Jackson! Yes, it's the Randy Jackson of American Idol. Songs sound like their originals, which is great, b/c the originals are best left untouched. I actually bought the CD in the store b/c I'm old school and like owning the actual CD. The CD has a label on it that has the grooves like a 45! How awesome is that, very cool! One thing to note, if you buy this album in stores, you will not be able to download Track 14, There'll Never Be. However, you will be able to download an "Acoustic" version of "It's the Same Old Song / Reach Out I'll Be There" if you buy the album at Best Buy. This acoustic version is basically the piano from track 2 and all other instruments stripped opposed to an acoustic guitar playing and the Boyz singing with only the guitar.

Still the best

Just like my Dad and his friends used to try to sing like the Temptations, me and my friends used to try and sing like Boyz II Men. This album brings back those kinds of memories and also remind me of the genius that is Nate, Mike, Shawn & Wanya (he may not be pictured, but I certainly hear the unmistakable bass that is Mike). This may be the second consecutive cover album that they came out with, but definitely the better one. For those of you that have been missing from the planet for the last 15 years, this is a great introduction to the magic that is Boyz II Men.

According to no less an authority than the RIAA, Boyz II Men are the most commercially successful R&B group of all time. They sold ludicrous numbers of records and were involved in three of the longest-running number one pop singles in history, and they did it as a unit of equals. In fact, their four-part harmonies blended so smoothly that most of the general public would be hard-pressed to name any of the group's individual members. And that's no reflection on their skill as singers; Boyz II Men...
