Endless Space, Endless Listens

In a world where pop music is so inundated in our daily lives, where one song sounds identical to other, it's nice to have a breath of fresh air that doesn't sacrifice catchiness for a lack of originality. "Endless Space" provides a pleasant blend of pop rock, subtle electropop, influences with a dash of RnB zest here and there. From the first track to the last, hooks are present aplenty to catch the ears and attention of the listener, from a keyboard motif in the mix to stacked harmonies of the strong female vocalist. One of the more pleasant things about this album that becomes more apparent the more that you play it, is that no single instrument outdoes any of the others in the mix. Everything sits comfortably and makes for a very enjoyable listening experience, one without any overbearing instrument, including vocals, that are begging for attention to be heard. The songs are simple but strive to be catchy and succeed with flying colors. With a good rhythm supplied by the drums, which don't rely on the same groove for every single song, and the guitar and the bass, there is a nice foundation for the rest of the song to build on. With a nice array of instruments, nothing really grows old on the ears, including both of the vocalists. Both vocalists are very talented, the rapping on the part of the male vocalist is grin inducing and surely will pull the listener deeper to the cd for more listeners. The strength of the female vocalist is apparent to even the most music cynic and her harmonies add a nice touch to the overall package of the music itself. This is surely a great cd to listen to and really shows it through the effort of the band members and their writing. I recommend this cd to anyone who really likes to have fun listening to music, even if they do like to analyze it time to time.

One Great Record

Kapluckus is absolutely inventive and completely skilled in delivering pleasing melodies and harmonies. Their lyrics are poignant, the recording is crisp and clear, and the feel of the record is flawless. They impress in a big way. I bought this album after finding them on myspace and think that this has got to be one of the best unsigned bands I've ever heard. If you like No Doubt "Tragic Kingdom" or Paramore...you will love this record.
