The finest pop release in the last 50 years!

Ms Fleming has always been known for being on of the top five concert music singers in recent memory. Her pop debut shows that she could have lead an equally riviting life as a pop diva. She smolders, she shimmers, she soars exactly when she's called to do so. Each track engages the listener and transport them to another world. You'll laugh, cry and pick up your dancing shoes with this stellar release! One wonders what the music videos will look like. Perhaps she'll give Abdul a run for her money. The only weak point is her rendition of Hallelujah. Quite frankly only the Bono himself should ever be given permission to sing that tune. All in all this is an awe inspiring release. Run, do not walk, and get this at once! -Bz

WHY!?!?!?!? Seriously, WHY??

This is awful. It's the musical equivalent of "Showgirls." Why didn't someone speak up, as this was being made, and say, "This is borderline camp"? I had to double check to make sure it's the same Renee Fleming that is the most gorgeous soprano I have ever heard: and it was. Shockingly dreadful. Who told her to make a dance/pop album? And WHY oh WHY has she been autotuned????? Renee, you should fire everyone around you, and never ever do an album like this again. I'm embarassed on your behalf.

Great CD

I came across Dark Hope while looking for new releases from Ms Fleming who I admire for her super classical signing and presence in stage (I’ve been at the Metropolitan Opera and several of her recitals). Though I know little of popular music, I found this CD excellent: great selection of songs, outstanding sound and foremost, the mesmerizing -although almost unrecognizable- voice of Ms Fleming. Purists might not be pleased by this deviation from the traditional but it works for me. I downloaded the album to my iPod and do not regret it.
