Album Review

With musical threads running all over the metal world, the Absence blend chugging death metal with European influences on their third album, Enemy Unbound. Like their past albums, driving death and thrash metal make up the engine that powers the album, giving the band a sound that thunders forward while leaving plenty of room for more melodic flourishes to add depth to the sound, adding a more epic, Scandinavian feeling to the album. The Absence prove themselves to be equally adept at both the heavy and melodic aspects of the songs, delivering enough big riffs and sweeping guitar acrobatics to keep fans headbanging from start to finish.

This band never ceases to amaze me! Everything is so top notch and it sounds like it came from Sweden... which is sweet. Every track is stunning but my personals favorites are Erased, Maelstrom, Enemy Unbound, The Bridge, Hidden in White and Merciless 3. So basically, half the frickin album. Get it... get it now. But where did Merciless 2 go????

Both Stewart and Pintavalle were fans of...
