The Best of Classic Styx

By far one of my favorite Styx albums. This pre-Tommy Shaw album contains such classics as Lorelei and Suite Madame Blue. It shows the early evolution of the band combining the dreamy synth sounds of Dennis DeYoung and power guitar riffs of James Young and John Curulewski. This album is must have for any true Styx fan.

Excellent

This is Styx before they hit it big with Grand Illusion. This album is so close to perfect. Still remains in heavy rotation at my house.

If you find yourself, as a reviewer,

comparing Styx to Led Zep, you need to go fry burgers or something. So, what, every band that has a long song that starts off softly and then rocks out is trying to duplicate "Stairway"? That kind of thing had gone on long before Zep, or even long before electronic music. But I suppose if you don't have much to say you have to resort to the lame bag of tricks of critics everywhere: I shall compare Band A to Band Z and make useless observations that really explain nothing about the music.
