Album Review

Combining two early demos, 1998's Eye of Horus and 1997's Cemeteral Gardens, as well as a pair of live tracks, The First Damned offers fans a look at the early days of the Polish technical death metal band Decapitated. With a somewhat rawer, less refined approach, the album is definitely something fans of the band will be interested in, providing a window into what sort of sonic destruction they were up to before releasing their debut, Winds of Creation, in 2000. The First Damned provides an unfiltered look at Decapitated's brutal beginnings.

Interesting idea but yet a metal no-no

Alright, any red blooded death-metal fan should love decapitated. But there are now multiple versions of decapitated due to band deaths , injuries, and retiring. I personally prefer the original lineup as in the first couple albums, so when you take the most popular songs from albums of a band that has went through different vocalist its sort of similar to taking songs from two entirely different bands whose instruments sound similar.
So in conclusion, this is an ok compliation because its a good band, but its somewhat choatic due to the change in vocalist half way through the playlist.

epic fail

do not support this, it blows! spend your money on the tribute album to thier orignal drummer instead

These talents they perfected over the course of demos Cemeterial Gardens (1997) and The Eye of Horus (1998) before signing with Earache's Wicked World imprint for the release of their 2000 debut, Winds of Creation, which in turn led to a successful...
