EDITORS’ NOTES
When Iglesias recorded his second English-language pop album, he couldn’t have had any idea of the cultural impact it would have: The quivering ballad “Hero” took on an inescapable resonance in post-9/11 America while the rest of Escape provided just that for a country in mourning. Slightly sidelining his Spanish roots, it provided a picture of musical unity, with Iglesias embracing Eurotrance on “Love to See You Cry” and Eurovision on the defiantly camp “I Will Survive,” with nods to hip-hop and classic rock elsewhere.

Looooovveee it
Man I love this guy! Great vocals, records, and just a great album!
1. Escape -- 10/10 -- One of my favorites. Good beat and lyrics.
2. Don't Turn Off the Lights -- 8/10 -- His voice sounds a bit nasally in this one.
3. Love to See You Cry -- 3/10 -- I just personally don't like the concept and the tune.
4. Hero -- 9/10 -- Mkaes me sad everytime I hear this cuz it reminds me of 9/11. However, very amazing and emotional song.
5. I Will Survive -- 7.5/10 -- At first I didn't like this one, but as you listen to it it kind of grows on you.
6. Love 4 Fun -- 10/10 -- Great, upbeat, summer fun song. It reminds me of the beach. =]
7. Maybe -- 8.5/10 -- Sappy and slow. My kind of song.
8. One Might Stand -- 9/10 -- I like how he todl a whole story in this one. Very original, except for maybe the name Jenny.
9. She Be the One -- 10/10 -- Outgoing and more wild. I like it.
10. If the World Crashes Down -- 5/10 -- Somehow this song makes me think of 9/11, too. Hm.
11-13. Remakes of Escape, Don't Turn Off the Lights, and Hero is Spanish.
Enrique Iglesias is my hero
This is an absolutely amazing cd. So passionate... so right
Escape To Enrique
I first heard Enrique Iglesias when I was driving in my Mom's car. Supposedly his father was a huge icon way back when, and here comes his son with raw talent. Personally, I find Enrique Iglesias to be a great singer to listen to at any time. I can imagine why some would not like him, but this is inevitable. One can obviously tell Enqrique has an incredible passion for what he sings. Great kudos.
