Great work

Earnestine,

Distance and Comfort is the third solo CD from Ben Kenney. He continues to change the way most people credit indie music to be by drawing from funk, punk and reviving the classic guitar solo. The way he blends genres and doesn’t confine himself to the normal Tuesday release shows a subtle disregard for the “rules” of the music industry.
A personal favorite is the soulful "Get It To Go." The groove that rides through the whole song along with the lyrics make you wish the song was just a little bit longer and the story had more time to unfold.
Kenney continues his trait of including instrumental tracks with “When We Are Both Cats,” however, the best one of the bunch isn't technically "instrumental." "Some Days are Better than Others" has an ambient melody of overlapping guitars that instantly calms the soul. The subtle lyrics are deemphasized with reverb and never truly come to the foreground.
Distance and Comfort is a great album. His lyrics are neither cocky, nor modest, but honest. An exquisitely executed album.

Any fan of Incubus must have this.

The Ruskie,

I got into Ben Kenney's music from listening to my favorite band...Incubus. I decided to check out his solo stuff and man is it awesome. Maduro rocked on all levels and his new album definitely lives up to his name. I mean the guy records all of his albums in his pj's at his house. I just watched the video to his song, Eulogy, on his myspace and was hooked. It shows just how he manages to record the song by himself. Just got the whole album as well as his other works. Kudos to iTunes for putting up more of his solo work. Any fan of Incubus must have these albums. They do not dissapoint.
