Album Review

The first effort from Billy Idol's former guitarist is just as flashy as his work with Idol, but also some great bluesy songs.

Love this album

Love this album. A buried treasure from the 80s. All the speed and intensity of the shredders but with songs that are much more fun and less self indulgent. Not a bad song on it.

Why am I the first to review this album?! Steve is an unbelievable virtuoso and there is always a gem on his albums that will blow my mind. Now they just need to get Flamenco a go go on I tunes so people can really hear this guy play!!! Check out Run Across Desert Sands here to see what I mean! That is H.R. Gigers' artwork on the cover too, my favorite artist.

Great Solo Effort By Steve Stevens!!!

A very good solo debut for Billy Idol's awesome guitarist. This was the album that showed Stevens was more than just a sidekick, and it features great songs and awesome playing. The Playboys: Thommy Price (Scandal, Billy Idol) on drums & percussion, Perry McCarty on lead vocals, Phil Ashley on keyboards, and Mr. Stevens on guitars & bass. Special guests: Kasim Sulton (Utopia, Meat Loaf) on bass "Atomic Playboys", Anton Fig (Ace Frehley) on drums & percussion "Desperate Heart" and "Evening Eye", Fiona on vocals "Desperate Heart". An all star cast for an all star album. Suggested cuts: "Atomic Playboys", "Power Of Suggestion" which features The New West Horns, "Action", "Run Across Desert Sands" great instrumental. Don't miss this great cd on iTunes!!!

Born in Brooklyn, New York, on May 5, 1959, Stevens first picked up the guitar when he was only seven years old, and later became an avid prog rock fan, especially the likes of Emerson, Lake & Palmer and Yes. Honing his craft while playing in Manhattan, Stevens recorded an unreleased album with his band, Fine Maribus, and also played as a session guitarist on Peter...
