iTunes Review

It was a boon that Ben Howard’s chief influence (bucolic, ’70s-era folk) came back in vogue just as the British singer/songwriter launched his career in 2008. But as his debut makes clear, Howard is also gifted at crafting spare, off-kilter arrangements. “Keep Your Head Up” bobs along on waves of brittle, fingerpicked guitar, and the dissonant notes on “The Wolves” trip up its bouncy beat. With irreverent instincts—and his distinctively rugged, froggy sigh of a voice—Howard stands out as a true original in his field.

Song after song, Ben Howard is genius

Buy this album, it will give you all of his works that you can purchase. Each song by Ben will find a way into your heart. He's poetic, one of the best guitar players I've ever seen, and puts on an amazing show. If you truly wish to enrich your soul by the music that you listen to, then this album will fill your soul's appetite. This is what music is supposed to be.

Innocent and simple. Unique and genius.

His music is brilliant and has a calming sense of innocence to it. I haven't heard anything exactly like it and almost everyone I've recommended Ben to has loved his music as well. Buy this album and I promise you won't be disappointed.

II've been waiting for an album like this for a long time. I can listen to this over and over.

While pursuing a journalism degree years later, he briefly moved to Newquay, the surf capital...
