About WINNER

South Korea's Winner make dance-oriented rap and R&B-influenced pop music. Formed in 2013 after winning the YG Entertainment-produced reality television competition Who Is Next: WIN, the five-member all-male ensemble features the talents of vocalist/dancers Lee Seunghoon, former Superstar K2 competitor Kang Seung-yoon, Song Minho, Kim Jinwoo, and Nam Taehyun. Upon taking first place on Who Is Next: WIN, Winner appeared on their own ten-episode reality program, WINNER TV. In 2014, at the end of WINNER TV's run, Winner released their full-length debut album, 2014 S/S, featuring the singles "Empty" and "Color Ring." It hit number one of the Billboard Top World Albums chart, and was was followed by 2016's Exit EP, which nearly repeated the feat, reaching number two. After the release of the album, Taehyun went on indefinite hiatus, and by November 2016, had left the group permanently. In 2018, Winner returned with their sophomore full-length album, Everyd4y, which debuted at number one in South Korea. ~ Matt Collar
