Editors’ Notes

Already an established street legend in his native Houston, Trae tha Truth has been one of the region's most prolific and hardworking emcees for a long time now. On Welcome 2 the Streets, he shares the spotlight with his ABN Renegadez crew, which includes Lil Boss, Yung Quis, Rod C, and Jayton. Sinister walls of synths and bombastic drums dominate the production, while Trae and company sound off about doing dirt on the block, running the rap game, stacking dollars through nefarious means, and big-upping H-Town. Unsurprisingly, Trae's signature soft-yet-hard flow steals the show. But his affiliates hold their own, complementing his shadowy gangster tales quite well. Quality guest appearances come from Freddie Gibbs, Jim Jones, Messy Marv, Freeway, Meek Mill, Twista, Styles P, J Cole, Frank Nitti, and Krazy Bone, while highlights include "This Is for You," "Anotha," "Predator," and "Brick Talk."

Customer Reviews

This CD is ok, I think it would've been better if Z-Ro had been in it. Other than that it is a great CD.

A Sign of The Times

Go out and cop this. Trae been making some big moves as of the late and very soon the world will have a chance to hear him and his crew the A.B.N. Renegadez, which consists of some old timers for H-Town fans like Jay'ton and Lil Boss and also newer faces like Ron-C and Yung Quis. Just look at this album and you can see that their fan base is growing, for industry heavyweights like Styles P, J. Cole, Twista, Jim Jones, Freeway, Krazie Bone and Meek Mill are featured and even newer rappers like Freddie Gibbs and underground mainstays like Messy Mave have verses. Their appeal is everywhere and it is time for the hip hop world to brace themselves for A.B.N..
