Amazing Leftovers That Didn't Make It Onto the Main Plate

Although the songs on this album didn't make it on any of their major albums, that doesn't mean that there's no worth in them. For those of you who say that there is no substance in these songs, I bet you that if they appeared on the major albums you would definitely appreciate them more. Just listen and analyze the lyrics and it's the real essence that No Doubt possesses that no one else can match. They're geniune artists in this music industry where there's so much artificial material out there today. When you listen, you can detect which albums these songs derived from. So here's my analysis of the songs: -Big Distraction: This song screams Tragic Kingdom out loud! Great song, can't deny that. -Leftovers: This is in probably the continuation to the song Underneath It All on the album Rock Steady. I love how much it holds that laidback vibe No Doubt has really done effortlessly. -Under Construction: Great lyrics, I have no idea how Gwen does it. Shows the musical roots of the band in its entirety. -Beauty Contest: This song is obviously Return of Saturn material with a lot of feelings girls can relate to. -Cellophane Boy: This definitely reflects on Gwen's hardship with her relationship before she got married. It expresses how she was feeling at the time, as if you're reading one of her diary entries. -Everything in Time (both of them): Such great artistry is put into both of them. So much emotions that I honestly am so amazed (as always) how much they've put into each of the songs. -You're So Foxy: I love how much fun they're having in this song. And let's admit, who hasn't felt these feelings before when you have the hots for someone? -Panic: Once again, it's like reading into a diary entry and revealing so much feelings. -New Friend: This is the alternative to the song In My Head on the Rock Steady album. The bridge containing the lyric "in my head" definitely contains the rock vibe that I can't get enough from the band. I prefer this song than the one on the album for the reason that it shows the band's signature style. -Sailin' On: Great cover of a Bad Brains's song. This shows the rich quality of Gwen's voice that we all miss. -Oi to the World: I can't help but be in a bright mood whenever I listen to this song. No Doubt did a stupendous job doing this cover from The Vandals while keeping their touch of the ska spirit alive. -I Throw My Toys Around: No Doubt+Elvis Costello=such an incredible song. Lyrics are strong and I love how it's a big metaphor. -The Remixes: Unlike many remixes that ruin the essence of the original songs, these don't at all! I don't think I would be able to explain it well, but for one thing, I know that I was dancing to these by the first time I listened. In my opinion, any adjectives that I use to compliment this album would be an understatement. In other words, don't underestimate this album just because they're b-sides and such. No Doubt will always live their songs up to the band's reputation. So therefore, buy this album now if you're a true fan of No Doubt or if you want GENUINE music that you can rarely find anywhere else.

No Doubt fan's Will Love This!!!

This album is definaltey for the "True" No Doubt fans of the Beacon Collection and earlier years. This is what I've always loved about No Doubt. It's chill Music that you can listen to anywhere. I just bought it and feel like a teenager again. If you are a "New" No Doubt fan. You might be a little surprised that it's not like her new "Pop" image, but this is how and why they became famous!! I hope that they will continue making new albums in the future. But I guess only time will tell. Thanks Itunes for putting this up!!

Formed: 1987 in Anaheim, CA

Genre: Rock

Years Active: '80s, '90s, '00s, '10s

With the return of the punks in the mid-'90s came a resurgence of their slightly more commercial rivals, new wave bands. No Doubt found a niche as a new wave/ska band, on the strength of vocalist Gwen Stefani's persona -- alternately an embrace of little-girl-lost innocence and riot grrrl feminism -- exemplified on the band's break-out single, "Just a Girl." Formed in early 1987 as a ska band inspired by Madness, the lineup of No Doubt initially comprised John Spence, Gwen Stefani, and her brother...
