Customer Reviews

Everything IS OK with this amazing collection!!

This is a brilliant collection - I mean the whole Smith Tapes catalogue, as WELL as and including this album!!

You can find interviews of rock legends out there but there is something about Smith that lets artists open up I think - - I get a true taste of THOSE days by listening to any and all of these interviews.

Inspiring.

superb time capsule of late 60s early 70s

This release follows the pattern of other Smith Tape releases of offering in-depth, personal, revealing interviews with the titans of politics and culture of the late 1960s. The releases retain a time-capsule-like feel by leaving in sponsor messages and the occasional news clip. The Ono/Lennon (as Plastic Ono Band is released) and Abbie Hoffman (following the Chicago 8 Conspiracy trial) interviews capture changing ideas and philosophies as the 60s come to a close. A must for those interested in music, movies, politics, and gender relations in the late 1960s and early 1970s. Collect them all!
