Amazing

So glad this band is finally offered on itunes. what took so long? What a dynamic album, songs like Lay me down, We have this place surrounded, and World without end really stick out. I threw this album in for long commute to work and it seems like it stayed in the player everyday for a month. Can't wait to hear the new one. I first heard TBR on the Long Way Round series. It was virtually impossible to purchase anything. I had to use Songbird to find it. I'm so glad itunes has it now and more folks will be introduced to these guys. If you are a fan of Radiohead you will love these guys.

What has been missing from the indie scene for the past few years...

...is The Boxer Rebellion. Was tipped off to these guys right around the time they first released Exits a few years back and was smitten with Verve-like fervor from the get go. 'We Have This Place Surrounded' is the subtle grandeur that most bands rarely even appraoch in the course of their entire existence, yet alone on a debut release. And if you can track down a digital copy of the unreleased single 'The Rescue' you will see that TBR was in stride right from their inception. Union can and should be on the radar of any and all music rags and outlets that claim to know the barometer of that which is quality and not merely another redundant chapter in the novel trend of like-spawning-like bands that have been far too prevelant for the past few years. The Boxer Rebellion is that good that I flew to Paris for a long weekend just to see them open for another band. Yes, they are that good and that worthy of your listening time.

Best Album out of the UK in years!

This is an album I would want with me stuck on an island. Every track has substance through its lyrics and music. I'm so glad I discovered The Boxer Rebellion! "EXITS" is the most played album on my iPod. Just download the entire album, and you will thank yourself. Enjoy it!-Alex Hart

Biography

Formed: 2003 in London, England

Genre: Alternative

Years Active: '00s, '10s

The Boxer Rebellion's moody clatter drew from a cross-section of acts including the Verve, Radiohead, and Black Rebel Motorcycle Club. They weren't to be confused with the late 19th century uprising in China, or even the Philadelphia punk revivalists who shared their name. Based in London, the quartet started around 2002 when visiting American student Nathan Nicholson met guitarist Todd Howe, who was originally from Australia. The two soon hooked up with Englishmen Piers Hewitt (drums) and Adam Harrison...
