iTunes Review

Exodus catapulted Bob Marley into the international mainstream and the hearts of humankind. Released in 1977, it swayed with a keys-led vibe and husky, lilting vocals that sounded like no reggae before it. Split into two parts, thematically, the collection found Marley tackling religious politics on the heavyweight jams “Natural Mystic” and “So Much Things to Say.” Revealing his softer side for the first time, he let his voice dance across themes of sex and relationships with the flawless, feel-good anthems “Three Little Birds” and “One Love/People Get Ready.”

The Best That Has Been, Is, Or Ever Shall Be

He wrote this after being shot, moving halfway across the world, and leaving his family, and it shows. Look at Exodus, Keep On Moving, and Turn Your Lights Down Low for evidence that he missed his family. Each song has its purpose, and they all come together to create a concept album of epic proportions. This is, in shourt, the greatest reggae album ever produced. Unless Damien or some new face comes along with a perfect message at the perfect time put to the perfect song, then this album CANNOT be replaced by another.

Marley

buy any cd by marley, but make sure you pick up the delightfully chill song three little birds (everything's gonna be alright), marley is quite possibly one of the best muscians and humanitarians to have ever lived.
