The second act of punk music legends

"Heart and Mind" is is a good album on its own merits. That it features two of the members of the legendary Austin punk band The Dicks gives it additional importance to those interested in tracing the path of American punk into the post-punk era and the sounds that emerged. That The Dicks and SDH are also counted among the unrelated group of acts labeled as "queercore", gives it yet another facet to be considered.

This is an album about trying to find hope and connection in the middle of a fearful, lonely and boundaried time; and about leaving behind the nihilistic, indulgent, and infinitely self destructive past. It remains as relevant today in the post-911 world as it was when it was released in the heart of the AIDS era.

You don't know me and sweet talker are gems.
