Old Material

Are you looking to hear a good Exxon Valdez joke? How about a good Dan Quayle joke? Want to know what Lewis Black sounded like before he was funny? This is the album for you. Personally I want my $10 back.

I really liked Lewis' last album, and while purchasing it, saw he had another album, to be released on 9/26... Didn't know what I was buying...

A Blast from Lew's past

I hadn't heard about this album until about a week ago (after downloading Patton Oswalt's new album). I thought something was a little strange when I didn't see his Facebook fan page covered head-to-toe in ads, counting down the days until the release.
In hesitation, I decided not to dive head first into this album, but instead to check out the track previews first, when I realized the sound quality was a little off...and that Lew didn't sound like he was being choked the whole time.
While I wish I could hear Lew talking about Obama, Bachman, Palin, and everyone else, I'm still pleased to have learned that this is an album composed of older Lewis Black material.
All of the tracks are hilarious, and it serves as a reminder of how we all learned to love Lew: Because he is the angry voice that we all wish we had. It's the kind that spews the truth with humor and wit the likes of which cannot be bested.

Funny jokes - horrible audio

The audio quality of this recording is horrible. I thought I was listening to a bootleg.

Satirist and standup comic Lewis Black rose to prominence in the late '90s with regular appearances as a commentator on the Comedy Central cable network's The Daily Show. Obsessed with human stupidity, Black became one of the show's most distinctive contributors with his weekly Back in Black segment; his delivery was so full of frothing, barely articulate bile and rage that it could sometimes obscure the sharpness of his social and political observations. Black graduated from the Yale Drama School...
