Album Review

The Pointer Sisters didn't fare so well on RCA at the end of the '80s. Their harmonies and sound seemed tame in the wake of the hip-hop, dancehall, and New Jack revolution. The songs were superbly performed and well produced and arranged, but just too sedate for the period. They had a couple of singles make the low end of the R&B charts, but while the album did decently, it was far from the heights they had enjoyed only three years earlier.
