About Mint

Formed in 1996, the New York City trio Mint (John Nickles -- guitar/vocals, Chris Shea -- bass, and a series of drummers) spotlight ready-for-radio hard pop, à la such late-'90s chart-toppers as Matchbox 20 and Fastball. Playing regularly at such popular N.Y.C. nightspots as CBGB, the Continental, and Luna Lounge, the band issued their self-titled debut album in 2000 (issuing it on their own label), and garnering favorable reviews in such publications as CMJ, where they earned an "A&R Pick." Their sophomore effort was issued a year later, American Style, which picked up where the debut left off. ~ Greg Prato
