I love the soundsssss

I recently stumble upon James Blake. I live in America and therefor have not heard any of his music on the radio. I love how many different sounds he uses in his music. I just wish I knew what they were saying...

Almost Unreal

Justin Vernon's voice and the beat-- even if the lyrics are indiscernible, everything sounds so beautifully great. I don't understand how it's done, but whatever it is, I'm in love. Justin's voice sounds so heartbroken and magical, it's all so perfectly tied together.

Had so much potential

This song would have been so much better without the electronic effects. Vernon's gift for melody and verse are overshadowed by his synthesized gimmickry. Vernon's path from DeYarmond Edison to this collaboration hint at an artist more interested in manipulating his sound than perfecting it.

Justin Vernon began recording under the nom de band Bon Iver following the breakup of DeYarmond Edison, an indie folk group similar in tone and manner to Iron & Wine, Little Wings, and -- to a certain extent -- Bonnie "Prince" Billy.
