They have some 70's sound, but with some crunchy southern style! Aprilwine meets Molly Hatchet... April Hatchet! Yes, that is it! I'm buyin' the whole thing!

When rock stars were bigger than life

Fireball Ministry harkens back to when rock stars were bigger than life and you actually thought they were "different" than normal people. Makes you wish this were only available on vinyl and that things like Facebook, Google, and MySpace didn't let you realize that your rock star idols didn't live purely to rock. Nice to hear a band where the band actually plays.

consistent non-stop rock and roll

Fireball Ministry seems to get overlooked among their pantheon of peers, such as Clutch, and, Queens of the Stone Age, even though they put out album after album of searing no nonsense rock. They remain a consistantly great band, both album wise, and live, while not getting the recognition that they deserve. A great old school vibe permiates their work, and this album is no exception. Jim Rotta is a great vocalist, and the riffs are inventive and solid throughout. Hopefully with the release of this s/t lp, they'll start to get the props that they richly have earned.

The members of hard rock trio Fireball Ministry -- Emily J. Burton, James A. Rota, and Helen Storer -- christened themselves with religious titles (bishop, reverend, and sister, respectively) in keeping with their band name, and issued their debut album, Ou Est La Rock?, in 1999 on Bong Load Records. By 2001, Storer left the band and John Oreshneck (drums) and Janis Tanaka (bass) joined the group just in time for the recording of FMEP. A deal with Nuclear Blast surfaced by 2002.
