"Music as Morphine"

Signum, now known as Signum A.D., has finally made it, earning their keep with the top in the game right now and releasing one of the most solid rock records of 2008. Started "back in the day" by Dave Ruyle, Elliot Ecton, and Barry Lewis and known then as Torn in the Wichita rock scene, Signum A.D. has evolved their sound but kept to their commitment to hard work and professional musical development creating an intense fan base that belies their humble beginnings. Now with their first official release on SMG Records, the band it ready to bring their creative sound out of the heartland and into the global arena. "Music as Morphine" has long been in the making, but the result is astounding. This stunning EP was produced by Dark New Day's Brett Hestla and mastered by Michael Fuller, who is known for his polishing work on various Eagles albums and most importantly finishing records with the almighty Skynrd. The sonic assault begins with "Who I Am" and doesn't relent, carrying their signature formula of good, homegrown, tempest-creating post-melodic metal characteristically mixed with lyrics of pain, hope, and remembrance, to the masses. It is hard not to identify with Dave's signature screams and embrace as he meets you where you are with his creative verse. Elliot, Dave, Dave (w/ the Mohawk), and Brentin have truly shown themselves to be perfecters of their art with this 5-song exhibit on what makes a real rock n' roll album. Do yourself a favor and pick up "Music as Morphine" and feel anything but sedated

These songs are great, reminds me of breaking benjamin, but better!! This band is from a small town in Kansas, but I think they will go much farther!
