Customer Reviews

an old favorite

A delightful collection of traditional music from both sides of the Atlantic, by an ensemble with a unique sound--light yet energetic. This album is much better than their later one (Jealousy). Good to see it on the iTunes Store after being unavailable for so long.

the new land

This is a truly great album with a fresh, lively sound. I listened to it on vinyl and cassette 100s of times and learned all the tunes, but lost my copies long ago. How wonderful to find it again!

I wish more people did this music..

This album is almost 30 years old. Irish music today seems to be stuck.. You have all these PBS concepts pushing "Irish" music yet it is not that close to the Tradition. This band sought to merge Celtic/Irish to its Folk/American cousin styles. Why didn't people catch on to this and continue the evolution?? It is starting to happen, but slowly.. But.. anyway, an amazing album, and you really owe it to yourself to get this.. even if it doesn't grab you at first, give it time and you will see what I mean!
