Album Review

Queen's The Platinum Collection places the group's three previously released Greatest Hits albums into one box set — colored platinum, of course. Although this doesn't serve much use for fans who already have all three collections — or all of the albums, for that matter — it is useful for listeners who want to get all three discs in one fell swoop, and it's not a bad item for collectors to pick up (the kind of collectors who collect items and product, not the ones who just need the music).

Customer Reviews

Queen is incredible!

This is quite simply the most incredible compilation of music from a single artist ever. Queen is so talented. They have so many different types of music that no one has been able to mimic since there breakup. Everybody thinks that thier well known songs (We Will Rock you, We Are the Champions, Bohemian, ETC) are the only good songs they have. This is not true!!! The 2nd and 3rd greatest hits CD's are in my opinion, just as good, if not better than the first because they are less Cliche'd. In particular, The show must go on, its a Hard life, let me live, and too much love will kill you, are all great tracks. I n short, Queen is amazing.

Pricy, but still worth it

Queen is one of the best classic rock bands ever. My mom has the first GH, and I own the On Fire live album. In short, buy this if you can.

Great Collection

This is a great collection of Queens songs. Any song you would want from them. The only thing is: I bought this for $30 from the most rip-off expensive store, Sam Goody. $50 is a bit high. Five stars nonetheless. Queen is fantastic.

Genre: Rock

Years Active: '70s, '80s, '90s, '00s

Few bands embodied the pure excess of the '70s like Queen. Embracing the exaggerated pomp of prog rock and heavy metal, as well as vaudevillian music hall, the British quartet delved deeply into camp and bombast, creating a huge, mock-operatic sound with layered guitars and overdubbed vocals. Queen's music was a bizarre yet highly accessible fusion of the macho and the fey. For years, their albums boasted the motto "no synthesizers were used on this record," signaling their allegiance with the legions...
