Album Review

The Bon Jovi guitarist goes solo on this recording. Sambora plays songs and styles that otherwise would not fit within the boundaries of Bon Jovi with a heavy blues influence.

Customer Reviews

Sambora is the most underated guitarist in rock

This is the album that proves that Sambora is a better singer than Jon Bon also shows how much of a deep love for guitar playing this guy has. Although he plays exceptionally well on Bon Jovi releases there is something pure about the way he plays on this cd. Although a few songs on this cd like Rosie sound like Jovi outtakes the gems on this cd are unforgettable. There is blues, rock, soul, acoustic guitar, and synch heavy ballads and stands out as his better of 2 solo releases. His songwriting shines throughout and its easy to see his contribution to better know hits like Wanted Dead or Alive and I'll Be There For You. Richie rocks with soul..period!

Turn off the lights, Light a candle, enjoy!

To say Richie Sambora is a genuis guitar player is only the tip of the sword. This man is genuis all around. I do believe without a doubt that this is the most underrated album I have ever heard. Here you get the rare listen of hearing Richie craft perfection and not only that, but hear how great is voice really is. The has a better voice than Jon Bon Jovi and this coming from the biggest fan on Bon Jovi anywhere. Every song on this album will impress you to your very soul. If I had to pick a highlight from this album, the songs would be "The Answer" and "River of Love" Both of those songs can't be talked about enough. "One Light Burning" is an amazing song as well. It is about finding that one thing that can keep you going on in life. More impressive is that Richie wrote this song when he was just 17 years old. You will be doing yourself a favor by downloading this album and I promise you that you will not be disappointed in it. The one thing that Richie said about this album was that he wishes that he wrote this album with more 'radio minded' songs. I think it is the radio stations that should've given this the listening that it deserved. I remember in Florida they were raising money for charity and hear songs. I called in and paid $150 so the radio station would play the album in its entirity. After, the radio station got so many calls regarding the album and where they could get it. Trust me when I say that this is worth the experience.

A solid performance!

I would agree that Richie is underrated however, I wouldnt say that he is "better" as a vocalist than Jon. overall, this is a great album with lots of soul and great song writing.

Raised in the humble, swampside locale of Woodbridge, New Jersey, Richie Sambora -- the gifted lead guitarist of the multi-million-selling rock act, Bon Jovi -- was initially inspired by blues-based icons of the 1960s such as Jimi Hendrix and Eric Clapton. Following a self-released eponymous 1980 hard rock album with an act called Message that he had co-founded with the late Dean Fasano, Sambora took a two-week trip to Los Angeles to audition for a place in Kiss. Although the audition was unsuccessful,...
