Feel-good

WKellerman

A superb feel-good mix of soft rock, vintage country and honky-tonk inspired jams, featuring an amazing and truly dynamic vocalist. Offering a nod to old-school Americana, she seamlessly moves between 60s and 70s style ballads while slick production keeps things modern. ‘WISHING WELL’ is extremely radio-friendly with its perfectly constructed song structure and memorable melody while ‘GIVING BACK THE BEST OF ME’ is the perfect note on which to end the album.

About Jaime Wyatt

Jaime Wyatt is a singer and songwriter whose candid style bridges alternative country-rock and Americana. Raised by musician parents, she grew up listening to the likes of Tom Petty, Bob Dylan, Hank Williams, the Pretenders, and '90s country radio, and had her first wave of music-industry success at the age of 17. After moving from a rural island in Washington State to California and securing her first record deal, her Sheryl Crow-evoking songs were licensed for a handful of on-screen appearances and soundtracks. One such soundtrack album was 2004's Wicker Park, which featured Wyatt alongside bands like the White Stripes, the Shins, and Snow Patrol.

Finding herself in recording limbo after a second label deal fell through, Wyatt continued to perform but developed a drug problem that took her further off course. Based on her own experience of spending eight months in jail for robbing her drug dealer (a plea deal eventually awarded her time served), Wyatt's full-length debut, Felony Blues, addressed topics including her crime, addiction, depression, and recovery. Its title a play on Penitentiary Blues by David Allan Coe, it was released by Forty Below Records in 2017 and featured a duet with labelmate Sam Outlaw ("Your Loving Saves Me"). ~ Marcy Donelson
